The Government of Korea kindly facilitates visa for all duly registered participants of the 2012 World Conservation Congress. Please consult the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea for detailed Visa applications:
http://www.mofat.go.kr/ENG/visa/application/index.jsp?menu=m_40_10
In order to apply for a visa, you need to:
- Be registered to the Congress and have fully paid for your registration fee;
- Request an official invitation letter, quoting your Congress registration number, from the Korean government by sending an email to visa@2012wcc.or.kr. The invitation letter will exempt you from the visa fee, so please take your registration confirmation letter when applying.
- Apply up to 1 month before the Congress at the latest through the Korean embassy in your country. The official invitation letter will be sent from mid of June to 6 August.
It is also possible to receive a visa on arrival by sending a request beforehand to the Korean Organizing Committee at visa@2012wcc.or.kr. However, the visa fee will apply and you may incur delays in receiving the visa due to the complex procedure. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you get your visa through the Korean Embassy of your country before your trip.
If your nationality is not in the list of countries on the Ministry website, we kindly ask you to contact the Korean embassy or consulate in your country to confirm the conditions of your visa application.
If there is no Korean Embassy or consulate in your country, please contact visa@2012wcc.or.kr to obtain more information.
